My first Salvini spawn

My salvini finally spawned. We'll see if any fry survive.

Pics are Male, Female, and then eggs.

not too many eggs, as far as this first batch is concerned. good luck with their parenting.

Got wigglers today. They are in a corner were I can not get a pic. It looks to be quite a small batch. Probably a little smaller than an average convict spawn.

what size tank you got them in , and are they by themself

They are in a 75 community tank. with 2 cons, 2 firemouths and a severum (no other pairs). I can see that one of the cons got too close because he has some marks on his face.

BTW, how odd is it for a female sal to not have the gill spot? Every other female I have seen has had the gill spot, but mine does not.

Bad news. The male killed the female today while I was away . What can you do though. Time to find a new project. I do have a couple of jag grow outs and I guys that is where my energy will go now. Oh well.
