Ok guys so my first stinger dropped off in the night, i have taken it out of the tank but am scared to touch lol. I once heard that if you boil it then it will be safe to touch, is really all i have to do then? Stick it in a pot and boil it for several minutes?
See poic below of it ready to fall off

you should be fine if you boil it. use tongs to pick it out of your tank. and for pete sake get ride of that gravel and get some sand, the gravel can scratch the under side of your ray's witch in turn become infected vary easaly.

I just use a pair of pliers to pick it up and then just run it under hot water to take the coating off the stinger(then it's just the white stinger), then just leave it on the window sill for it to dry out..

Hi Sam. How big was the ray from which the stinger came from?

you don't have to boil it and as long as your carefull you can pick it up with your hands if it stayed in your tank with in a day it would be white and safe to handle more carelessly
