My First Sturgeon

Was digging around some old pics and I found these. They were pics of my first sturgeon. it was 25". Unfortunately it onlt lived in my tank for a couple of days

could b anything with a alrge fish but my guess would be not enough oxegyn or symply an overloaded biomass, going form 1 dat (any other tankmates trust?)at maybe 8in and tacked on 25inches of hearty fish is a big difference

I honestly think it was all banged up and stress from being in a packed crapmed conditions at a fish market. Cause abou t a year later I had quite a few more sturgeon that didn't come from markets and they were doing fine and healthy.

Thats a beauty Jed. How was the temp when you kept that sturgeon?

It was in the low 70s with a ton of current and aeration. Although the temp may have been one of teh factors I still believe it was the conditions in the market that did it in. The ones in my pond have lived in temperature like that before.
