PS, the random clapping emoticons after each sentence symoblize the random clapping after every sentence the President said at the State of the Union. (I apoligize in advance).

This is my very first successful DIY project I've done.

It's not some woodsmanship masterpiece or electrical genius and it looks really ghetto style, but it still works, so I give myself that.

I took the hood from my ancient 10 gallon acrylic tank, stripped out the 14watt bulb that was in there, stripped two LightsofAmerica 27watt desk lamps to its wires and bulb, hand drilled (took a nail and made an indentation in the plastic, took multiple sizes of screwdrivers and tediously shaved a hole large enough to fit 4 wires through... couldn't let the parentals find out
)

Then I glued in the reflector plates, the bulbs, taped on the wires to the top, hooked everything up and BAM!
.

Only problem I have is alligning the two timers to turn on and off at the exact same time
.

I think I have it, but I'll have to wait till 10 o'clock tonight to find out
.

Anyways, it was cost relatively nothing as the two desk lamps i had were barely being used and my dad said they were cheap, but now I'm looking online and they're supposedly $35, so whoops
.

All-well, what can ya do?

My next DIY project is a super efficient DIY Yeast CO2 generator with an efficient diffuser, finding a small enough internal filter to reduce gas exchange, and get rid of these java ferns, and start aquascaping a nano planted tank fureal
!
