my first foray into sw came as a fast tank flip
i had my scats in a brackish tank and came home one night to find that the plaster roof above the tank had collapsed due to a slow drip froma baddly soldered pipe
so i very quickly made a tank flip from my very ugly 90g hatchet grow out tank i had them in to their present 65g its been about 4 months or so since i did it and it seems the tank is going well no dead fish a bit of algae due to my forgetting the lights on a couple of times boy is that different than fw
i do wc every 7-10 days of 25% i use seachem salt , and seachem prime will also be using their other products when i actually feel comfortable to try coral
i did put some feather dusters and tried a frag from the lfs but i found out that scats are evil evil evil they eat coral lolol
well thought i would just show a few pics of the tank from its start to yesterday
this was the tank they were in i was mistakenly informed that these were columbian sharks when infact they are iri sharks
the hole in the ceiling, i looked at that craftsmanship and thanked god the plumber was not the carpenter
a 65g koi overwintering tank that i picked up
half hour later and the tanks are flipped an i have a killer drip catcher
1 hr in the new tank and thank god for prime
next day i ran and got these filters
now after the tank had been up for about 2 1/2 months i added these to it, i also added some hermit crabs but my camera dont get pics of them that good
i also added one of these guys cause he looks good and fits the population well but good luck getting a good shot of him
for the sake of clean up and sand movement i added two of these
and a snail of some kind
and the other day the final tank inhabitant was added i was given him by someone who was making thier tank over with lots of coral and they were afraid he would wreck the set up boy was i surprised when i opened the bag and saw this
he is an engineer goby and is about 12 inches long
i have also just turned my 35g brackish into full sw, and my 65g brackish into sw and i also got this system which i full well intend to make a sw
marineland retail pond system 80g bowfront with 35g built on back sump killer biowheel system and killer return pump with very nice lights above
