I've been wanting one for some time now and finally decided to take the plunge. I was going to go with a Mexican red knee and I saw a 4"er at a shop, but I needed to set up the enclosure first and didn't feel like driving up to Fort Collins to get it, so I went to Scales-N-Tales in Englewood and picked up an ~5" "metallic" pinktoe. They had a red knee there, too, but it was less than 2 inches and I don't have that kind of patience. I know it's more arboreal, but it should be fine in its 10 gallon tank, although I do need to add more decor. Right now, it's @ 79 degrees and around 71% humidity, so I may put a little glass over the lid to trap some more moisture to increase the humidity, but I realize this species needs good ventilation. I'm already anxious to get my next tarantula, which I'm thinking about maybe a suntiger, but I want to gain some experience first. I really like the cobalt blues, so I'd like to get one fo those eventually.

yeah, it takes some getting used to handling them. I've only handled one other tarantula before and it was "trained" to do so or at least be more used to it.

thanks. the red leg in Fort Collins was about the same size @ $80 cage included, which i was okay with, but didn't want to drive back up there to get it

If I got a tarantula, my mom would never visit my house again. Hmm, come to think of it....
