ok, I did my first test after 1 week, I used stability and Bio spira.
The tests results are as follows
Amonia =0
PH = 6.6
Nitrite was 0.25 but even lighter and that the next number to 0
Nitrate was 5.0 which allso one number before 0
Do you think I should do a water change all ready or wait another week for things to build up??

What do u think?
Thanks,
Jack

after a week no ammonia? i dont get it that means they would have to have peaked to get the nitrite.
is this a form of super fast cycleing that no-one has told me about.

Maybe it is the biospira? Sounds lightly cycled though. Maybe add a couple fish now? I don't mess with that stuff. I just cycle and stock like normal. Good luck...

I did use bio spira and my tank is fully stocked with 8 american cichlids.

Keep an eye on things and keep testing :)

Nitrates are under 5....I would do a change when they hit 15 and keep it at 10 if you can :)

ya under 20ppm is ideal while under 40ppm is good

How much Bio-spira did you buy! That stuff isn't cheap. I hear you can add fish the same day you setup the tank with the bio-spria added, as it establishes your bacteria colony (and actually does a good job).

I didn't even know they still had freshwater bio spira? Or is your tank salt? I thought they stopped making it for freshwater for a while because they couldnt keep up with demand
