my convicts seemed to have laid eggs in my 180. my first time ever having fish breed. do i remove the pair or wait till the eggs have spawned? tank mates are geos, sevs, dats, fronts green terrors and 1 parrot. need some advice

and also do I keep doing water changes or can the change in temp kill the eggs

Wow asking a quick question about something I've never experienced beforen and I get 16 views and no response. I thought this site was about helping others.

Take the eggs, and parents out of that tank if you want the fry to survive... The parents will guard them if left in the 180, but I doubt the fry will survive. A 30 gal is perfect for a pair of breeding cons. I have mine in a 20, but would prefer a 30.

You'll want to keep an eye on agression. I took my Cons out of my main tank when they spawned as they were going psycho on the other fish. As Geronimo69 said, if you leave the fry in the main tank I wouldn't expect a lot to survive with that list of inhabitants. They'll be slowly picked off, and the Cons might end up hurting or killing some of the others defending their babies. They get mean. :)

thanks a million geronimo69, livebearerfreak and dark jester for the response didnt know what to do
