My first leopard gecko hatchlings hatched out 1-2 days ago. The first hatchling seems to be very healthy and is already eating. The second hatchling hatched out a day after the first one with something attached to his stomach, i don't know whether its the reminants of the egg sack or what but it's dark red and seems to be attached near the vent. I left this one in the incubator in hopes that it would either fall off or reabsorb it but i woke up this morning and it is still attached. What should i do?

First of I hate you so much:D:D(sarcasm) Tryed to do same thing just a few mouths ago but for some reason my female reabsorved the eggs, oh well , will try again next year;) As of now you did REALLy well in putting your young gecko in dificultys in a paper towel substrate, keep it moist but not wet and sligthly warm untill it is reabsorved (replace daily) , and leave your gecko alone, hopefully he will survive, very cool gecko, looks like a blizard:headbang2

Thanks, i hope he survives too, he's a little super snow :D

It seems he cannot open his eyes, i think some of the dust from the perlite he was on got in them. Is there anything i can do to help clean his eyes?

You can flush them with some sterile saline eye drops.

Unfortunately, he doesn't look very healthy. It looks like he failed to absorb all of the nutrients in his egg. Compare him to the other one you have and look at how much skinnier he is. If he can't open his eyes, he's probably not long for this world. I think the best thing for him would be to just leave him alone- try to stress him out as little as possible.
