My fish are babies

My cichlids are babies. All they do is hide. granted i only have 5 total fish in my 125g, about 10" in total. will they come out more when i add more fish?

Probably fearful due to size and small amount of fish. I am not the african expert but I would say to add a few more. Possibly some other fish native to the area if you want to go that way.

With lake malawi cichlids you want the tank overstocked, over filtered, and full-o-rocks. You have room for a lot in that tank, but keep in mind the peacocks and labs are more mellow than most mbuna. Be careful with the pleco getting picked on too...

Add more fish. Add a dither fish to give them more confidence to swim about and you should have no problem. Aquarists are attracted to these fish because of how active they are in large groups.

Add some more peacocks, mbunas and LOTS of stackedd up rocks. You shouldnt worry about your plec, hes nocturnal.
