I NOTICED THAT ONE ON MY IRREDESANT SHARKS LOOKED LIKE THE SKIN WAS MISSING OR EATEN AWAY FROM HIS NOSE AND HIS FINS WERE IN BAD SHAPE. HE ALSO STARTED DEVELOPING SOARS AND HIS EYES WERE CLOUDY. WELL NEEDLESS TO SAY HE DIES. THEN LATER THIS AFTERNOON MY OTHER DIED FROM THW SAME. THIS DEVELOPED OVER A COUPLE OF DAYS. I HAVE ONE MORE LARGE SHARK LEFT AND MY SHOVELNOSE CAT THE YARE NOT WELL BUT NOT AS BAD. I HAVE A SILVER DOLLAR AND A AFRICAN KNIFE IN THE TANK AND THEY ARE FINE. I DID A 25 % WATER CHANGE AND USED BOTTLED WATER CHANGED THE FILTER AND PUT AMMONIA REMOVER IN THE TANK. MY PH IS AT 6.0. I DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO AND I REALLY DON'T
WANT TO LOOSE THESE FISH...HELP PLEASE:help2:

Could use more info....
What size tank do you have?
How long has the tank been set up?
What is you Nitrite level?
What is your Ammonia level?
What is your Nitrate level?
What kind of filtering are you using?
Have you added any new stock in the last month?
What is your substrate and when was the last time you cleaned it and the tank?
Last time you cleaned your filter?
How much do you feed, how often and what do you feed?

All this will help us help you better

I had this exact same thing happen to one of my Bala Sharks tonight... it looked like he had a body & mouth fungus... so far I've been treating w/ Melafix and that has seemed to help the other 2 Balas I have who were also showing slight signs of this "skin shedding" look... the one I lost had it the worst, 2 hours b4 he died, it looked as if his mouth was stuck open, he wasn't acting strange, just his mouth constantly open, and near the bottom of the tank. I had left for 30 minutes to get Melafix and he was belly up when I got home. I honestly don't know if my other sharks will make it so I understand why you're frustrated. I can't seem to fix my ordeal either... but I have done a 15 gallon water change on my 55 gallon w/ RO water instead of all tap water that it was until this water change... the water parameters on the RO water were reading safer than my tap water, so I had hoped adding this RO water to the regular would help balance it a bit more along w/ the Melafix.

Yes, I have this issue as well... when I noticed my Balas were outgrowing my 55, I started the process of the 180 but we couldn't get it finished and cycled in time before this issue w/ my Balas started happening... it's very frustrating b/c they probably could've been moved to the 180 soon...
