My girlfriend was feeding the tank and when she poured in the scoop of food there was a rubber band mixed in. something dime to nickel sized. Before she could grab it, the pacu's raced in and it was gone. a synspillium was also in the area, so it's a possibility too for having eaten it. I've read about fish passing bigger objects than this, like heater clamps, but what should i be on the look out for?

one thing it will not disolve so i would just keep looking for it and of course watch the pacu for any ill effects but i think you should be okay.. especially that the rubberband was small.. pacu are always in trouble:grinno:

I have had that happen a couple times, never had it cause problems. the fish were bullheads, LMB, and a marbled goby. Probably won't hurt the pacu either. I never saw any remains of the rubberband being passed.

Rubberband should be ok. It is small enough and flexable enough that it should just get passed. Of course watch him and his movements. make sure it passes and retrieve it. I had an Oscar that would from time to time poop gravel. I never saw him eat it, but i could see it. He lived for 10 years and w/ no apperent side effects.

My channel eats gravel non stop. Its sooooo annoying!! :nilly: lol.

Oh well..Cross your fingers and hope it won't happen.:)
