My Fish Eat Like Hogs

Well when I first got my fish I wasnt cleaning my tank as much as it has been said to do, my fish would eat like pigs but I started getting algae and blooms.

Well I got all that taken care of, started monitoring my water and doing water changes and my fish didnt eat nearly as much but the water and tank sure looked nice.

I have been lazy and quit testing the water and doing 1/8 of the water changes I was, the tank doesnt look quite as clean but man my fishes appetites have come back in a huge way!!

25 goldfish will disappear in 2 1/2 days with my 6" LMB, 6" Chub and 4" Sunfish

My LMB will eat a dozen worms at a time if I let him, my Sunfish will eat 2 worms at a time and the Chub will eat 2 but loves GF flakes.

So I guess clean water is out for these guys.

That is ridiculous. Fish like clean water. It's more likely that they were scared of the water changes, and didn't eat as much.

+1, fish tend to be scared of them, atleast mine were.

i wish 25 goldfish would have lasted my old natives 2.5 days. 36 would last under 30 minutes to 5 fish. but yeah, keep up water changes, they are important
