Ok, weird question but how long does it normally take a fish eye to heal and is there anything that helps this process? Put some stress coat in already and not sure if there is anything else I can do.....

stick with the stress coat for a couple of days and see if it starts to heal. How bad is it?
In a situation like that a hospital tank and melafix may help. others may say salt.
Either way I hope your fishie gets better.
Is it one of the severums? I have one in a customers tank that messed its eye up and its permanently sunk in and dull looking, but the fish is fine otherwise.

Yeah it's the bigger severum. I put a fake plant in the other day with pointed leaves...... Could kick myself in the butt!!!! I don't think it is real bad but you can definitely see where it punctured. A little bit cloudy around the hole. Really hope she gets better. Took the plant out right away cause I know that's what did it. Should have know better.....

if you think of it, fish live in a more dangerous environment with worse hazards... remember to take the carbon out of the filter before treatment!! i never do. good luck fishdoctorpuffergirl

post a pic... i bet guppy has some kind of magic voodoo advice that will fix it instantly.

One of my silver dollars got poked in the eye 2 weeks ago.I did the old school salt tbsp/5gal treatment and its just about healed not sure if eye will function though

Thanks for the advice guys!!! Will add some salt today and if that doesn't help I'll isolate and medicate..... Any one else have any input please let me know!

I think you're on the right track:)

No vodoo for this one, salted water and good food, it should heal, depending on how bad the wound is it may not regain vision in that eye. Watch the eye for signs of fungus or serious infection, if those show up isolate the fish and treat with an appropriate medicine.
