OK i have had this tank up for around two years. I had a nice assortment of fish in it, and the oldest being 1 year and a half old. About a month ago, I ordered some coral and those big turbos for my tank. I acclimated them with the drip method and put them in. Now 8 out of the 10 snails died overnight or were dead. They rotted and well my tank is tiny so the ammonia was high and it killed about everything. I saved a bluespotted jawfish, bubbletip anenome, some snails and hermits, and some star polyps by putting them i my qt. Well I cleaned out my aquapod, and even replaced the sand with the bio active stuff, refilled it with saltwater, using some cycled water and some new water. Put the sand in it, along with my live rock. After about a day, I put all the animals back into it. About a week ago, I noticed my bluespotted jawfish was acting a little weird and i noticed a white mark on its side, that was only a speck before, so I qt him with the proper medication, but he died the next day. Everything else in the tank is doing fine, but none of them are fish. So about three days ago, I bought a small dogface puffer, and a small sailfin tang. I put the dogface in my qt and the tang in my ap, each after the drip method. The tang was acting fine, even yesterday night it ate. This morning i find it dead. Now the dogface in my qt is fine. I have two things I am thinking that could have caused the tang to die, the temp is going up to 84-85 degrees or I also have many aptasia anenomes that Im tring to get under control. Could they sting the tang? Was it the temp? Any suggestions on why fish keep dying in my ap?

What do you mean, before I bought that online order, I had a pair of false perculas, a gold-headed sleeper goby, a small valigmii tang, and a bluespotted jawfish. This is a 24 gallon AP.

Then, because of the snails and me, they all died except for the jawfish. So, when I put him back in, from the qt, he was the only fish. i pretty sure he died from the fungus.

So for about a week, there were no fish in the tank. Now there was a small sailfin tang in it, up till yesterday he was fine, then he died this morning. I bought the sailfin three days ago.

Yes I have to agree u are putting to many fish in that tank, the tank is way to small for the stock u are trying to keep in there.U need to put smaller fish that stay small,I also believe that your nitrate is probably to high, how long has it been since u did some maintenance on your filter system?

I see what you are saying but I havent had more than 1 small fish in there since a month ago, I know why my orginal fish died, im asking why are they dying now?

Since a month ago, ive had my bluespotted jawfish which died around 1 week ago in my qt trying to get rid of the fungus which grew pretty bad. then i bought the sailfin under 3 inches 3 days ago and it died today. I didnt have all of these fish at once.

Sorry I see what u are saying, the fungis probably killed the jawfish, there cuold be alot of reasons on why the fish are dying, bad stock from the store u buy from, water parameters, and so on.

0 ammonia, 0 nitrite,15 nitrate. I do a 25 % waterchange once every two weeks

The tang could have been stung, it's certainly a small space, and so it would have been very difficult for him to avoid them. I'd like to see your parameters (actual numbers) as well. So far, though, if your stocking is any indication, I'd say you may need to do a lot more research in order to be successful here. My favorite book on the subject is "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" by Bob Fenner. I'd research a lot before I tried to set up the large tank you mention in your signature. If these mistakes have cost you a certain amount, imagine how much more mistakes in this large setup will cost! It would definitely save you trouble in the long run.

Ive actually havent lost a fish up to a month ago. And are you saying that im lying about my water parameters or was this reply, posted about the same time i posted my water parameters?
