I moved my 28 gallon black water tank from one room to the next about a week ago. i kept all the water but changed the gravel and now i have lost about six fish maybe more i can't remember i tested my water my pH is a 6.0 and my ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate are all zero. i can't figure out what killed my fish does anybody know?

I don't know.

What type of filter are you using? If its undergravel, and you changed gravel, I'm thinking you probably lost all of your beneficial bacteria and maybe the tank had a mini-cycle. But it seems that would make your ammonia/nitrite/nitrate levels fluctuate...so, I don't know.

one year ago i did the same thing i changed the gravel but, i for got to wash the gravel !that was a rookie mistake, in one week i lost 20 of a.cichlids no mater what i did it just could not save my babies, what i did took all my cichlids out took the gravel out put it in-to boiled water killed off what ever was in that gravel then clean the tank with hot water and it worked,,,,,what ever was in that gravel was gone....! good luck to you...

I am using an aquaclear 50 the gravel was already used in a previous tank so i rinsed it a little bit but the tank never became cloudy

What did you use to rinse the gravel? Also what kind test kit did you use strips or drops?

the gravel i used was dry but it came from another tank so i rinsed it with tap water. i am using the Hagen brand test drops. the last tank i had was a 75 which was turned into saltwater but when i had the tank running there was no disease in the tank

The gravel came from a saltwater tank? You might not have rinsed it well enough...just speculation though...
