I just completed my around 200 gallon fish pond.

It's a 7x10 liner with a DIY filter.

The filtration consists of a pump (aqua active 400 gph $28 shippped on ebay) and a water hose that feeds the water to my filter.

My filter is a modified flower pot that holds pot scrubbies and sponges. The water is then fed down the waterfall.

Total cost:

The filter (flower pot / media) and water hose cost me around $20.

The pump was $28

The liner was $40

Already had the fish :)

Rocks/driftwood was free :headbang2

TOTAL= $88

how many gallons in that thing? It looks shallow (not a bad thing), but watch out for the sun baking/boiling those fish.

The pond is around 200 gallons. It's 6' by about 3.5'-4'.
The deepest spot is about 19".
I'm not too worried about having a fish fry :) because I had a smaller pond in the same place....(35 gallons, it was tiny) and the fish survived the heat of the summer and the freeze of winter.
