So quite recently I haver gotten into "rescuing" othert peoples fish... this is a thread where I will post and update ALL my rescues... Currently, I found an add on craigslist yesterday called, "Florida Gar and Sun Catfish". I clicked it and called the number... Apperantly they are both in a 30 gallon tank with a blood parrot (not for sale) and an eel (also not for sale..) I am 100% rescueing the MONSTER cat but not sure about the gar...

Update #1

I texted the guy and got a picture from the guy... He may be a LITTLE smaller then 12 inches but actually, it is hard to tell as his tail is curved around at a weird angle... But, it is obvious his tank is WAY to small..

Update #2

Here is the picture the guy sent me... Oh and in case you were wondering this guy is a mere 10$ so WELL worth it... Since they grow really slow from my experience and I have never personally seen one over 6" this is going to be a VERY fun animal to be able to work with... Anyways, enough of me talking... Here is the picture :)

Update #3

On my other thread, a member mentioned that the catfish looked really "dark" and it appears to have weird looking eyes... Well, In my experience sun cats can change color from bright to dark depending on mood and to be honest, i would not be happy to be living in a 30 gallon either LOL! And for the eyes, I go to school for film/photography and IMO it appears to be a glare from either the tank or the flash (if used) But to be realistic, It DOES look as if it has an eye problem... It may be a combo of both the camera and a problem... But, until I see it in person, there is no way to tell for sure... He sent me pics of the gar to and in THOSE PICTURES, it shows pretty much half of the tank... And it is basically a BARE tank and the one little hiding pot that IS in there is to small for him to fit in... So, he can not get away from the tank lights therefore his eyes are clouded... Well, my 300 gallon is DARK ANYWAYS! I keep my lights mostly off because my clown knife does not like light anyways... So, he should heal pretty quick... If I see it getting worse once he is within my care, I will deal with it accordingly...
Anyways, that was a pretty ling update there... So, I will continue to update this thread as things happen...

Update #4

(Wow a lot of updates LOL!)

I just wanted to tell you guys that the overstocking in this tank is even worse then i had thought... There is the foot long gar and the foot long sun catfish but ALSO in the tank is a 4 inch blood parrot (not for sale) and a 10 inch fire eel (also not for sale...) well, this just simply means i have gotta go and help this poor guy out ASAP!!! I feel so bad for them. But, I do have to give the owner credit... He actually took the initiative to realize his fish were to big and posted an add on craigslist... Most other people would be like "who cares they are just fish" But, at least this guy is TRYING! So props to him...

Ya man, don't really see to many listings for actual "fish" on craigslist here... Lots of tanks but not fish... I do not know why... Ya, I am 100% saving the sun catfish not sure about gar...

Update #5

I just reread the craigslist add and it says right on there that the catfish is blind in one eye... DERP! Cant believe I missed that...

Yes, but I really do not want to risk it with my fish.. I am trying to think of a temporary tank or something for him...
