hey guys i seem to have a case of ick going around the tank
i think the clowns brought it but now the fox faces have it
what can i treat the tank with without harming the sharks????

Formalin (or a formalin based treatment like Quick Cure) would be your best bet. Chloroquin also works, but will have a very negative effect on the aerobic bacteria (biological filtration). Just make sure when using either to add extra airstones to keep oxygen levels up in the tank. Both treatments will have an impact on the ability for the fish/sharks to exchange oxygen at the gills.

I've used chloroquine many times. IMO much a safer than formalin. Plus formalin is a carcinogen. PM me and I can give you my source for chloroquine.

You have to treat the sharks too. Though they usually don't show symptoms, they will serve as a host and allow to ich to reproduce.

bump the temp to 86 and add aquarium salt. Since your treating clown loaches use 1/2 dosage( i always use 1/2). Before adding the salt i would do a 30-40% water change and then add the aquarium salt. YOu need to vacumm your substrate really well. Do a wc every 3-4 days. Add the amount of salt according to how much water you change. Stay on this for 2 weeks or until the ich is gone for a week.

Clown loaches do well in the warmer water also and the warm temps help ward off ich and bacteria. ALtho a sick fish will almost always effect the tanks and its stock.

Also make sure you have a good pump w/ an airstone in the tank. The higher water temp means less o2 so you need to add that via airstones.
