or slowed to just a few small pieces.i have a big 12 inch jagXtexas hybrid,i know there is a hybrid section.this is more of a general question to find out if other large CA fish maybe do this from time to time? his water parameters are good, just did large WC on his 75.no signs of parasites,no scratching movements, colors and behavior seem normal.don't know if i should start meds.he has been this way about 2 weeks

This has got to be one of the most beautiful hybrids I've ever seen. I hope he ends up being ok!

+1. Post picture of your beautiful fish please. Most of the time, your fish doesn't feel like eating when he is not comfortable with somthing, not necessary your water is not right.

i was hoping for some insight from others, their larger fish experiences that could be similar

12in fish. How big is the tank? Water is probably going sour fast. Texas are sensitive to bad water. I would raise the ph.

75 gal 48x18,i do weekly changes,he doesn't show any stress,he greets me at the glass, still trying to get at me.i guess i can get a new kit, check my PH.the texas i have had in the past were not sensitive

that is a beautiful fish, i must say.
i know this really doesn't help your case, but i had to put it out there.
hope he is back to his normal self as soon as possible.
how long have you had him?

thanks,he is about 4-5 years old.when i first started keeping cichlids,i had a female jag and a male texas mate(oops)a few times.i am glad i grew some out!

Man, I never get tired of looking at that fish. When I had cichlids, they would have an occasional hunger strike, my old carpintis went nearly 2 weeks without food once. How long has he stopped eating?
