bought a 210gallon fish tank concerned about heating it lol. How many watts basically is what iam after.
Should i get a bunch of lower watt ones or get a large amount of watts in one element.
Bought a fx5 and was thinking of putting scrubbies in the first basket and about 4 liters of seachem matrix bio media in the rest. Do i need any carbon?
Going to use three sponge in tank filters
Its mostly for my jardini arowana who is 4-5 inchs.
Thanks in advance
any tips welcome.:headbang2

hi bud i can only tell ya what work's for me i use 2 heaters rated at 300 watt each but i think i do have a bit more water .as for the media in the fx5 that sound ok tho i whould skip the carbon unless you need to remove anything like tannins of leftover meds you shouldnt realy need it and could use the space with better media that helps give you more surface area for good bactiria. just my opinion tho fella

I am setting up my 210g this month and have decided on dual Fx5's. I am going with two Hydor ETH 300watt heaters on mine. This will require some plumbing work to add them since they only have 5/8" hose. I had run these two on my 120g and realized it only needed the one to keep a steady 80 degree temp. So I'm pretty sure two 300's will be fine on the 210g.

Nice setup idea DMD. That will be filtered well and heated well.

Thanks!

Its been fun getting the things ready for this beast. I am also doing custom spray bars for it. What a pain trying to find black pvc pie. I really hope to get the thing set up soon. I have to move my 120g out of the room, then reinforce my floor joints before the 210g gets set up.

Thanks for the info hoping to set up the tank very soon. Just need to build the stand and wait for the filter/media in the mail.
Cannot wait to get this thing running.
