Where were you and what boat? Those are not snapper, they are porgy. I hate it when party boat crews call junk fish a "cool" name so they can justify charging tourists a ton of money even though they couldn't put them on any fish.

porgy taste pretty decent, just not as good as snapper. Most tourists just want to catch "something".

was on captain andersons in pcb they told me they was snapper lol probably just tell ppl anything to get them on their boat. i was not impressed with this trip either as soon we started getting them they would move the boat on to other spots . i also managed to catch a lizard fish too off the pier didnt have a camera with me. it looked alot like a snake head.
also caught a pin fish on a spoon. saw alot of baby mantas and a baby cownose ray.

ya as far as deep sea charters go the private charters are SOOO worth it i know it seems like alot of money but you catch a ton i went out and caught a 60 pound aj a bunch of red snapper but had to throw them back (not in season) a grouper, a bunch of vermilion snapper a couple porgy a 30 pound cobia and a huge trigger prob 5+ pounds

btw i go out at cape canaveral as far as party boats go the ocean obsession 2 is the best it runs out of cape canaveral and i have never gone on that boat and not caughten a keeper fish very good fishing and service

well im glad you caught something, but for florida it doesnt seem like they did a very good job of getting y'all on the fish

i went on the capt anderson party charter a few years ago...everytime we'd hit a spot and start catching fish the captain would move us...all we were catching were b-liners and porgys...i think a couple of people caught small grouper but I wasnt impressed----the last charter I went on in PC was Carnage charters and we slayed the red snapper and I caught a big king...ill find the pics and post them along with his link for ya
