Lookin' good!

Thanks. I built a special bond with this Gar. I actually saved its life once. He jumped out of the tank in the middle of the night and landed on my leg while I was sleeping on the couch which is beside the tank. Freaked the crap out of me lol. Lucky I was there and caught it quick or it be dead by morning. Now I covered the rear openings of the tank so he can't jump out no more. Lesson learned:)

Well you are a lucky dude I love gars and I would hate to see one dead :(

Dont they breath air? True alligator gars do, ive heard of one jumping out and 12 hours later the guy put him back in and was fine. Mine grew 3-6"/month when he got 11/2' i had to give him away, i got 20$ but i had to spend 10$ buying a 25gal rubbermaid... just be prepared for a 300+gal tank and a pond when hes full grown. Nice gar tho

Yeah they breathe air but I dunno how long they can last out of water. 12 hrs is a long time I wouldn't risk testing it lol. Yes I have a 450 gallon tank that he's going into once he reaches a foot. Doesn't anyone ever read ppls signatures?:) Also gator gars grow much faster and much larger. This is a Florida. Probably won't see 2 ft for a long time.
