Not sure what type as he doesn't look anything like my grass or Redfin that I've owned. Cool fish though.

Anywhere from 65-75 would be fine. They can most likely tolerate a little colder or warmer but ideal would be between that imo. I use no heater year round and my water stays about 73-74 and they are healthy and active all year.

yeah definitely looks like chain and from a quick google anytime Florida and pickerel are together so is chain hope you got a tank big enough they get about 2 foot.

They can get a little over 36 inches,a great fish that's rather hardy if properly cared for.

he's a fatty lol personally don't let mine get that full feed just enough so he has a slight bulge then feed again when it goes away.
