Over the last year i dedicated a tank to a flower ray.this ray turned into the most amazing ray ,it wasnt long before i wanted another but this time it was a tiger ray!
it took me some time to find these well acclimated rays.i had the flower and tiger togather since may.
well i would never dare put my flower or tiger in with my other rays because they will shred them up and kill them from stress.but little did i know how nasty a comfortable flower can be!

i am writing this to people as a caution ...i know flower and tigers should be kept in a species tank only not with blacks or other agressive rays because they are so fragile and stress so easy ect.they are so similar and many people mix flower and tiger with out issues!

now i have learned you must really know the rays! my flower became and is my most agressive ray towards others during feeding ,i have heard that some others have observed real feisty flowers but this guy is over the deep end. i am scared to put him in with my black rays .the tiger was not aloud to eat until he was full or he would pounce on it pin it down until he stressed it enough to steal its food! this is my fault ultimatley i killed the tiger it was a very well acclimated perfectly eating ray that i let things go to far.i did divide the two up but in the end the tiger was so stressed it was twicthing and wouldnt eat.it died fat and healthy just like that.it only took about 2 weeks!
i have a group of large sized geos and everyday i look a new one has been ravaged by the flower lol!

i am considering putting him in with my big rays tank but the possiblilty of what he did to the tiger is high i think???

but i didnt do a 16x regular prazi dose like others would have lol!!!!!! i wish i would have maybe the tiger would still be alive jk

I can see this happening. A couple of years ago I had posted on a female flower I had that bit every ray she came in contact with and at feeding time had more interest in biting the other rays verses eating. They are definitely unique. I have a pair now that are around 7 inch and they are developing this behavior. They can sure dish it out but can't take it back as you mentioned. I compare them to a sensitive bully LOL

what ever you decide will be the right thing to do im sure

sorry to hear that, i have to hold a net in my hand when feeding my flowers to block each one from each other they get aggressive with each other. their bites leave reddish pink mark on each other disk. i think many people underestimate flower rays. but a healthy strong flower r really aggressive.
