My Flowerhorn changed color....

My Flowerhorn used to be real red, but he has gotten darker since I added black pebbles to the aquarium .

Will he ever change back to his original color?

A lot of things can be attributed to the colouring of a fish, stress, light, food ect
The environment is one of them , some fish just seem to go darker with darker substrate and visa versa
How long have you had the new pebbles in the tank ?
