Thank you! I am very happy with how he is turning out! He is from Jeffery Rapps. For people who remember I posted him at 2 to 3 inch and certain people said I did not get him from Rapps and that he was a FH. Lol. He is my fav fish with loads of personality.

I remember that thread, nice to see you're not deterred by those who said it was FH (clearly its a trimac), and can't wait to see him get even LARGER

Of course they said he was a FH.... LOL To most people there is no such thing as a Nice looking Mac.... When a Mac is Quality or starts looking nice THEN it becomes a low grade FH...What a Joke....;)...But anyways nice male bro..

That's a pretty trimac Aquatik!

I don't quite recall the trimac thread your talking about, and trust that I'm not the one to be a stickler over any fish but my own, but I do recall a past thread in which a similar mix up occurred.

I agree, they appear to have other genes than trimaculatus. It's not a common practice for me to stock these fish. I try hard to maintain as close to wild form as possible on all the species I work with. Although the fish are attractive, and there is an incredible following for such fish, they do not appear to be solely trimacs. I just won't purchase them from that particular breeder again.

I am currently breeding trimac adults that are direct decendants of my stock from a couple years ago. They have successfully spawned three times and the first brood ought to be of marketable size in 3-4 weeks.

Best regards, Jeff"

Not saying this is the case with your fish but it might explain why people were so quick to question his genetics.
