I've had this guy for little over a year. He's grown quite fast, but I was kid of expecting more color and a bigger kok, can I still expect more changes in color and the size of his kok? Diet has consisted of a little of everything; flakes, pellets, freeze dried krill, earthworms, goldfish/rosies and lately for the last week sumo original and sumo red pellets.

I would say your best bet is to change the color of the gravel and paint backround black. You xan also put a mirror inside the tank. Our flowerhorns attack the mirrors often and we feel it adds to the kok size.

Get dark backgrounds and gravel to make him pop out more. However, color and kok size is always a gamble. They're still awesome either way.

Thanks for the input guys. They are awesome either way. I do understand that it's hard to know what you'll end up with, just not sure about how far along before changes, if any, may come about. Aside from the super aggression towards tank mates during feeding, there's quite a personality present in him! He's the only fish I've ever seen swim end over end loops.

Is it just me, or does it look like he has peacock bass in him?..

:iagree: he does have some trimac traits, but the 2nd pic shows tht it's not. cool though! :D and yeah, a change of gravel color and a mirror in the tank would surely help to show his colors.
