Ok to make a long story short my con got tired of my FM picking on him so he beat the living day lights out of her and now she is suffering and trying hard to stay alive. I have her in a make-shift QT container. I built it in a couple minutes with a drink cooler acrylic liner. So anyways shes laying on her side and breathing sort of heavily. She trys to get up in swim but fails. Anyways what can I do? All my other QT tanks are full and have no where to keep her accept the thing I made. I have to keep changing the water with more tankwater from her original tank and then fill up the original tank once it get a little low. Would adding salt do much of anything at this point? I don't have any aquarium salt is there a substitute? Help please! I appreciate it very very much!

A little salt won't hurt as it helps build slime coat and prevent secondary infections. Table salt will do for the short term at this level 1tbsp/G. As this is battle damage rather than disease you can't do much. Throw in an airstone or two to bump up the O2 exchange, keep the temp. stable. and add a bit of live protien to the diet (blackworms or brine shrimp) to speed healing.
