My folks new arrivals

Ok so my folks have a pond, I helped dig in when I was about 8, they spend the winter abroad in Spain in the caravan and I check in on things from time to time, they got back a week ago and this happened a few days later:



Then I get an email saying, I can't believe what I'm seeing

They have had a duck nest next to a 9 foot by 9 foot pond that is 2 foot deep, I've been round there 2 weekly to water the plants and never noticed the duck?:

Ducks are known to breed on small ponds, but that really is the smallest I have seen

pretty cool! I have two ducks that visit and swim in my pool from time to time .

They've all gone, after surviving for two day and two nights we had very heavy rain, my folks saw the duckings hiding under the mother in the morning and then 24 hours later they were all missing mum and all. It looks like they moved on the find better shelter. :-(
