My Free Flowerhorn

I went to a LFS in Seattle the other day and saw this guy in a 20 gallon with something wrong with his head. I felt bad so I asked how much they wanted for him. They said they were probably going to put him under so I could have him if I wanted him. I took him and put him in my 75 gallon with my female Jag. He is about 14 inches. They get along great and he is eating and acting fine. I am medicating him in hopes of a full recovery. So a question:

What kind of Flowerhorn do I have?

Looks like he got in a bad fight, I have a gold sev that got a little too close to some fh breeding and paid for it and exposed the cavity but not as bad as this guy. Looks like a plain ol ZZ though.

I would say so since they are a cichlid hybrid. It is quite possible, but this seems much more severe.

they definitely do, but a nice fish for free once hes healed!
