Don't know
My friend has a 180 african tank that has 3 frontosa's, a few mbuna cichlids, and a gold severum. Today he got an offer to buy a clown know if he could keep the ck in his tank. Here is what he told me.

The clown knife was kept at a ph between 7-7.5 and eats pellets and shrimp. The knife is 6 inches

My friends tank is kept at a ph of 7.5-8. Sometimes it drops to 7 but all fish are very healthy and colorful. All of his fish range from 4-8 inches

The offer he got was just 5 bucks because the guy is done with the hobby and selling off all his stuff.. Whatcha think???

I see the CK getting bullied and torn up since it will likely try to hide in someones territory....How does the severum get along with the others?

actually very well. He follows the frontosas around just about all day. The only bullying comes from ythe mbunas and thats towards one another. Its a very mellow tank

Hopefully CICHLID34 and AQUAMONSTER will chime in on this. They both have CKs and they have tried different set ups for their fish. They may have some advice for you. But I agree with krichardson, I think the CK will be damaged by other fish trying to keep it out of their hiding spots and territories.

Thanks GM....I think the PH range in question should be closer to neutral as far as whats best for the CK.They come from jungle waters which usually are'nt very high in alkaline content.

Well i got rid of my ck but i can tell u mine did very well in a tank with a ph of 7.5. Watch for him getting bullied since he is small but you will have to watch out when he gets big so he doesnt eat his tankmates
