Alright he has 3 peacock bass at 12-13" adult size. Forgot what kind of cichla they are. Anyways, my dumb friend of mines... actually my cousin, has them 3 in a 55 gal tank. Sad, yes i know. He's dumb. Omg. Idiot. Yea, btw i dont know why he isnt upgrading his tank to a much larger one. He said this isnt the first time they laid eggs. "They laid eggs about every month...& and i dont know why the eggs are not fertilizes or you can say not hatching?" said the cousin [maybe their all females?]. I'm like dont you need a freaking male? So they can breed & so the male can fertilize it?? Well, i have no idea on breeding peacock bass and so does my cousin. If anyone on MFKer is up to let us know how to solve this breeding problem i would really appreciate it.

Heres a picture.

Thank you all!

Ever tried venting your cousins bass' to determine weather you have a male or not?
Got pics of all 3 bass' seperately. Males nautical hump usually swells up and turns red when in breeding conditions.

They look like Mono pbass.. with that 3 stipes from that picture.... i could be wrong..

the other thing is.. from that picture... it looks like your cousin is right.. theose eggs look white and no fertilized.. so most likely the bass are just dumping the eggs..

I would recommend getting a larger tank.. 3 pbass at 12inches in a 55 gallon is not roomy at all..

120 gallon to 180 gallon is better.. Venting is one way to tell.. Usually when a female is ready to span.. its tube will be extended that you can see it.. Males' vent are much pointer and sharper.. Also.. Male Pbass tends to have a huge hump on its head.. much like a FH....

Better picture of the 3 fishes is required to further tell.. but thats my advice.. get a bigger tank..

Yep, white eggs=unfertile and brown=fertile. But I would'nt vent a fish till you have someone show you how to do it. I wouldnt even recommend you tell your cousing about venting seeing how he keeps 3 of them in a 55G..........
