Hi! New here. Thought I'd share my Frontosa tank that's been set up for a few months now.
I RARELY make changes to the tank, so this "build" thread will be incredibly sparse in updates, but it's cool to have a place to look back at progress, and to share!
Current setup:
75 gallon glass
Single Fluval 406 with black painted intake/outake
Pool filter sand
"China" rock
Fluval e300 heater
Marineland 48" Double Bright LED
Coralife 50/50 T8 single strip
Daily vacuum, weekly 25% water change
Stock: 4 Frontosa, 1 Synodontis Catfish
For lighting, most of the time I only have the 50/50 on with the blue LEDs of the Marineland strip to give a bit of accent.
Occasionally I'll turn on the white LED's for a better view, but I find the white light washes out the fronts a bit.
I originally got 3 1" fronts, then got 2 more, then removed 1 due to it being too aggressive. The 4 I have now are very chill and about 3" after 3ish months.
Initial setup with gourami fish cycling
Fronts added, 'scaped with driftwood and swords.
Decided I didn't like the look after a month, so went to a more traditional Frontosa setup with dimmer lighting.
This is current. They're growing fast! The Syno hides in his little cave behind the central pile of rocks all day.
