These are the four fronts i have so far..they are going into a 125 gal tank.. can i buy a couple more around the 3 inch size and be safe that there will be enough room for them when they mature.. also what kind of cat is compatable with fronts.. i was thinking of putting my Adonis cat in with them.. thanks

Fronts = hard alkaline water with calcium chloride (rift lake salts)
adonis = soft neutral to acid water with no salts.

Not a good mix.

Check out the numerous Synodontis sp. cats available.

Thank you for that information.. i have alot of different syn. cats so i will check out who would be the right one for the frontosa tank.. I appreciate your help.

I would get rid of the 7 stripe guy. I would not mix 6 and 7 stripe.

If you are looking to breed them one day I would have about 12 and then remove some males. If not I would keep no more than 8 adults. Good luck and enjoy them.

If you're not planning to breed then a few more fronts in a bigger tank would be fine as long as you get somewhat close to the size of your current ones.

I don't know if i want to get rid of the 7 stripe ..he is a really handsome fish.. the picture did not do him justice.. maybe i will separate the 6 stripes and try to get some more older bigger 7 stripes.. I also wanted to get some Zares... I think that is the name..they are incredibly beautiful.. looks like i will be setting up more then one tank.. but i still need some help with the 125..i want that to be really special..what kind of background should i use for the fronts.. my tank will be in next week, i ordered it today and i want to do it right.. We set up the Oscar tank today ..also a 125 gal..so finally the pacus have a tank to themselves in the 220 gal..thought the glass would break too many times,:headbang2

I always like to go with the thought that i might breed someday by choosing the right ones now .. even though i probably will just enjoy keeping them and having a tank of Fronts to watch.. Thank you everyone for your information.. I just wanted to get as much info on the right amount and right size before i take the plunge and buy some more.. of course first i have to find out where to buy them.. Most of the time around here if your looking for a certain type of fish it isn't available.. of course there is the internet..but you really have to be careful..
