Here is a pic of what I am thinking of doing with some glass that I have sitting around doing nothing.

I am not sure how to calculate the size of this. It will be 16' across the back two sides, 7' along the sides with no glass,13' across the front, and 3.5' tall. The glass is 6'x2.5'x1/2" it will a zero edge type setup with the glass, or a wood rail treated with aquarium safe paint.

I am also thinking of pulling it out from the glass wall to put a rainforset type planter in the back ground.

Stocking will be rays, arows, SA cichlids, cats, plecos and tetras. It will be planted with jungle val and have a large quantity of manzanita wood.

Filter will an over flow with a 300 gallon rubermaid sump. full of bio mieda.

I am trying to for a wet sesion look with this pond so it will may end up looking dirty compared to many tanks oyu see, but I want it to look nantural.

Please let me know what you think, and what you would change. Things will chane as it closer to the time to build this bad boy. Also I am looing more glass so it may get bigger of have a sister tank some where.

I will have 2" of glass on 3 sides in the concrete and I was thinking of using a 2x6 as a hand rail on top of of the glass with a grove in it to seal it to the glass. would that work? Or would I need to add some 1"x.5" glass stips to to the top to help keep it from flexing?

are you going to slot the 2" glass into the concrete if so that would support your glass with the addition of the handrail on top

When I do the concrete I will have a 2" slot all the way around for the glass to go in. My friend who dose concrete said that is easy to do. So once the glass is in place I will a 2x6 on top of the glass and a couple of inches in to concrete to finish off the top.

2" glass is pretty hefty i will be following this thread good looking blueprint can't wait to see the finished product!
