Nice collection bro!!

Are you worried about the juvie (lap? cong? still learning my lower jaw sp.) getting eaten by the ornate?

I THINK it's an endlicheri ( hasn't grown a millimeter in almost 6 months by the way, he was the same size as that ornate when I got them:screwy: ) and no ...not really worried. The ornate is so fat he wont even chase live feeders!

great group! the retropinnis look good.
Thanks! Do you think they are retros or Palmas polli?

there are two, right? both are retropinnis, which is now the scientific name of what is commonly known as Zaire Green in the hobby. not to be confused with mokelembembe, which used to be called retropinnis.

and you're right...thats an endli endli.

god that delhezi is GREEN, they are a fav!, cant believe the endli isnt growing, is it eating?what?

Thank you for the clarification. Do you think the Aqualog polypterus book is a worthwhile buy? Is there another book you would recommend? I really need a handy I.D. refference for these guys.

depends on what you're looking for. i like the aqualog book a lot. if you want a good ID book with diagnostics info, then yes its worth getting. this is the only english book (as of now) with the most complete list of polypterus species.

just to add though there are some choices the author made that some people don't agree with, e.g. he raised all subspecies to species, so no more subspecies. of course this has not been adopted. And i don't agree with his ID of P. bichir bichir (or what he calls P. bichir in the book) at all.
