Today has been a great day! Not only did I get a 40 B for $40 but my 14" FLG finally took something besides feeders! How good is krill for them? Can I continue just krill or do I need to continue the transition to pellets?

Keep going for pellits. My fla started to eat pellits regularly.

If its picking up on non live food your already half way there, I simply didn't feed my fl for about 5 days, tossed it pellets and he gobbled them up, also liked talapia as well.

Good for you op!

Thanks! I will continue working forwards pellets! F1 Vet, I believe in another thread I saw you recommended NLS? Do you recommend that for gars or is there another pellet out there that's better for them?

Doesn't get better then NLS! Omega one isn't bad either.

7.5 mm pellets going to be too small or too large?

For 14" gar they should work. Pellets just need to be small enough to be swallowed whole. I have 2 around 16" thats the size they eat.

Ok, thanks everybody for the input!

try soaking the pellets in krill juice for a few minutes first, and feeding them with the krill so its mixed up... should take to them in a hurry. i used omega since its a softer pellet, then starting adding the NLS in and my gar transitioned without a hiccup. sometimes the harder pellets are more of a challeneg at first.
