????
I tried pellets and feeders.i only saw it once eat a feeders but that was weeks ago.

Also my gar doesn't move much, just lays on the gravel until the tank's lights are off . Is this normal?

how long have you had him?

mo i put feeders every week but the gar isn't eating them, the pellets are for the other fish

Gars will tend to eat anything from pellets to live feeders, though mine is a gator that is 14" so I don't know how any other species of gars will react to the pellets.

dont feed feeders, feed chunks of cut meat. shrimp, silversides, will be alot healthier for your fish.

how big is the gar? and what's it's growth been like? is there a constant supply of feeders in the tank?

gars arent the most active of fish. this shouldn't be a problem

only if the fish is of a large enough size. if the fish is too small(8-10inches and below) it's necessary to ensure that is gets to eat everyday, even if it means giving feeders

an 8-10" gar can be trained off live with moderate effort in most cases, but they generally won't need live food at that point. YOY fishes under 6" are usually in the live food stages.

what are your tank parameters? how long have you had the fish? how big is the fish? i would check your ammonia and nitrite (which should be zero), as well as pH (which is best around neutral or a bit higher). if you just got the fish it will likely take a few days to settle in, maybe a week or so--
