True, one of the worse substrates and the degree of thiness may indicate something bad is already going on

actually repti carpet can be bad as they can get their clays stuck and sometimes when they strike for food they will get their teeth stuck in it

best IMO is tile cheap, clean and distributes heat nicely

Just got this gecko frm a friend i didnt know anything abt its soil content in the small tank .I just fed it wt super mealworm & it ate alot will improve its living condition right away will change the soil & tank thanks guys for yr advise.

He definitely needs to be fattened up, but if he's eating it shouldn't be a problem with frequent feedings. The tile idea for substrate sounds good; I have friends who have used crushed walnuts and/or carpet and had terrible results.
