Here's my Gold diamond rhom, collected from presumably the rio araguaia, 2nd pic was on December 10th 2020, the 1st pic was tonight... Has gone through phases of aggression, kind of hit and miss some weeks?? One week he puts up with no ****, but when I put dithers in, he completely clams up, like he's scared...I have heard they dont grow very quickly, but I think he's shown great growth the past few months..
Anyone else have any Gold diamonds??

Dont have a gold diamond rhom myself but have been keeping piranha for a while. They can be skittish at times even around dither. Usually only when lights are on. At dawn or dusk they will be out hunting those same dithers they were shying away from during daytime.

They grow the quickest at younger ages and their growth rate will slow down but usually not stop. A rhom can live upwards of 20 years and grow to fit the aquarium you provide for him, upwards of 12" with time and a decent sized aquarium.

I have a sanchezi I've had since about 1.5" and he is 16 years old and probably 7-8" he is usually timid with tank mates until the lights are off. Few dither have adapted to live with him.

Your rhoms personality will change over time as it gets bigger. Usually they will be less shy with time and size. Beautiful looking rhom :)

Very nice!
