I found him stuck in a corner of a hollow stump I have in my tank. He swam into a corner and couldn't get out. When I found him, it was already too late. I feel so bad. I had hm for 1 1/2 years. He was about 1 1/2".

Sorry for your loss. Why was he still so small?
I recently lost a 3 inch goldfish I had for 8 months. He jumped! By the time I found him, it was too late, so I understand how you feel

I don't know why he was so small. He ate a lot... I don't know if it was because of the size of the tank, there use to be a lot of tropical fish in there until about september when I got my green sunfish in there. Maybe he didn't grow because of the stress.
always sucks to lose a fish... about three years back my brother had a fantail goldfish that jumped out of the tank and dried up on the floor for an hour or so....... he was going to put it out of its misery but i decided to pull apart his back fins that were stuck together and we put him back in the water..... he lived for two years after that, one half of his body was grey haha
