My goldfish has no face...

About a month ago my lonely survior in my bass tank got his eye poked out by the crawdad. So I was like nice I got a one eye goldfish. Well some kind of fungus took over and now his other eye is gone and he cannot open his mouth. He won't die either he hasn't eaten since October. Should I just wait till he dies or let him live? Will he give my 5 largemouths the disese?

It depends on what the disease is, but it's generally bad to feed fish that are severely injured or diseased to other fish because you have the potential of infecting the other fish. Especially if this goldfish has a viral infection and passed it on to your other fish there would be nothing you could do to treat them. It may appear that the "fungus" caused your issues but it could simply be a secondary infection from something worse.

Honestly...I'd knock him over the head and get it overwith.

If that's rough for you get some clove oil and euthanize it.

No Shadowbass this goldfish was extremely healthy until the crawdad got his eye now he has no face. I would feed it to my 14 inch bass Larry but I don't want my brotha from an underwater motha dieing on me. Right now he is living with 5 4 inch largemouths in a 30 gallon.

Sorry, I don't know what I saw that made me assume you were planning on feeding him to the bass.

Yes, he could give your largemouths whatever disease he has.

Almost any wound on a fish that gets infected will be infected by bacteria. A fuzzy look is not diagnostic of a fungal infection, which are extremely rare.

At the first sign of infection, a fish should be isolated and given broad spectrum antibiotics (i.e., Maracyn I and II combined) and the hospital tank's water changed daily.

Does it look like this. It could have started out with the eye poking that gave the bacteria the ability to spread into a bacterial ulcer.

If the fish healed would it still be able to eat. If not, I would euthanize. Its pretty sad but sometimes has to be done.

I would put him in quarantine and and some aquarium salt then do 100% water changes and medicate till you clear the ingestion don't mix meds only salt with meds ( helps gill function and immune in golds ????? I am just learning but that is what I would do any info ??
