I found my male gourami dead today sad.gif .. I saw him this morning and he was doing great, eating and everything, when i got back from work he was dead, he had red spots all over his body, they were not bites from the other fishes, just red spots like hickeys.. What happen? He got sick in about 7 hours and died?

yes there is a medium pleco, dunno about water conditions, ill have it check tomorrow,if it was a disease, couuld it spread to other fish?

That guick about the only disease it seems possible to be would be a Pseudomonas, even then, that would be very fast. The red spot from those tend to have sores in the center and if you gently squeeze the corpse (wear gloves) a whitish exudate comes from the sores and anus of the fish. Binox, Maracyn Plus, and any other wide spectrum antibiotic gear to fight gram-negative bacteria will usually work on these. Are slide under the microscope of a smear of the pus will show myriad rodlike bacteria, some types can cause infections in humans, but in fish it is most common in temperate cyprinids.

its a disease period!!!i have 2 more fish white like white dots on their bodies, and looking close, those same white little things are all over the aquarium wall. im going to clean every square inch, do i need to get any antibacteria for any other fish that got the disease?

What do the white dots look like, grains of salt? If so refer to the thread on Ick.
