The Grotto
well they just had their second batch about 6 weeks ago and they are about .5" my wife said she saw another batch of eggs!!! which will make this the third in like four months. so since im not home to pull babies what kind of effect will this have on the parents? Im pretty sure they will start killing off the older batch to protect the new. but will this create a new habit of eating their fry?

idk about them but convicts will protect ther original babies along with the new ones. or thats how mine are doin.

Ok. well my wife pulled them and put them in a separate tank but forgot that i had a lil jag in there growing out;) and he ate a bunch of them before she realized he was in there. So she pulled them back out and put them in with parents.LOL. well at least they will be safer in there than my other tanks.

It would be the older batch that might have a problem with the younger batch if there is a big size difference otherwise the parents will not bother the older group.

A week ago my dovii's laid eggs and there was an older batch in there I thought
the parents would eat the older batch but didn't so the older batch ended up eating
new batch. What was weird was the parents seen the older batch eating the newer
ones and all she did was move the older batch to the other end of the tank but in the
end the older batch ate all of them and the parents acted like nothing happend.
