For some reason GT's are hard to find at the LFS's in Boston. They always seem to have Blue Acaras or some kind of half bred that they label as Green Terrors but never look good when they get bigger. I finally found this guy and paid a little much for him but it doen't look like the usual mutts I find around here. Any chance of telling if he might develop a nice hump on the head? It was the dominate male in the tank that both I and the guy working there thought might develop in to a good looking adult.

GTs don't get humps. I have seen some verry large GTs and they never have had a hump.

I'm picking up a really big GT tonight. Pics to come

Yours looks like a male and he has nice color  Some of the ones that don't get good color are often a female.

here is a pic of my female at 5 or 6" and in person her color isn't really this nice.

i have seen a few with good sized humps. not all seem to get them as ive seen huge ones with no hump, but most of the really aggressive ones i have encountered had some form of nuchal hump. not all were extreme protrusions but definitely considered nuchal humps!!

Here is a hump head. I don't think a hump this large is common but alot of the males can get that squared off head look. That's actually what I meant to say not a hump as in a Flowerhorn looking type of hump.

I've never seen a hump on the head like that. :WHOA:

I like learning new things.

Here is one of my males and he has a small hump but I didn't concider it a nuchal hump because it isn't very large. I should have more exact in my post.... sorry
