im kinda afraid to post this cause im sure the outcome of everyones posts will be bad, but o well here it goes.

please keep in mind aside from salt and various chemicals everything was assembled for next to free.

well i have an old pool i was given about a month ago, so i got the idea to use our shed outback to store it as a qt/holding pool

heres some details before the pics:

its 10' around 2' tall making it around 1180 gallons, the main filter pump is a 1.25hp rated at 5600 gph at 1' with 2" piping, it starts sucking it from a homemade overflow then it flows into a 5 gallon bucket filled with filter media and the water flows through the bottom, then into a rubbermaid container which has various baffles and more filter media then returns to the main pool, which i had alot of problems with bubbles so i had to put a square bucket with the bottom cutout into a regular 5 gallon bucket and the water flows up and out and no more bubbles, after that i got the idea to add even more filter media to that bucket too, youll see all this in the pics also for water circulation, immediatly following the return water from the filter is a 600 gph pump pushing the water around the pool so the filtered water is pushed around into a cycle

well im open to comments suggestions and ideas i just hope i dont get flamed for it since it looks so crappy but it was nearly free to setup so.

Grats on the cheap QT tank. I say as long as it works for what you use it for you did a fine job. Its for Quaranteen not housing fish permanently so asthetics are not important..only function. Nice job man!

ghetto ballin!

(excellent setup in contrast to total cost)

looks pretty sweet to me bro

ain't no one gonna flame you for this! looks great!

i think the flaming would come from an impulse buy without *adaquate* research

which at least he seems interested and genuinely wishes to learn, which is always a good thing ;)

look nice, good job:thumbsup: what are you going to have in there??

well right now all i have in it is my little spadefish, but as time goes and it becomes empty im not sure what ill do with it, i was thinking over time, maybe add seomthing to the bottom so i can put live sand and rock in it and not worry about it poking holes in the bottom, and maybe keep a catshark or something but im not sure yet, any ideas?

As long as the filteration is strong enough, temperature does not drop and jump too much, ect. there is no reason why you could not keep a Coral or Marbeled Cat Shark in that set up. Ofcourse you would want to add some substrate and live rocks first like you mentioned but its do able.
