i just got this huge peacock eel from An lfs. hes about 10-12 inch. hes in with the big boys. cant wait till i get a fire eel and tire track eel
I know, I have seen this multiple times and posted there telling them that they have it mislabled, but evidently they didn't believe me and haven't changed it. The fact that yours is over 10 inches is proof that it isn't a peacock (and proof that they are wrong). Look at my albums to see pics of my 13 incher that is less than a year old (more proof that it isn't a peacock). It is actually just a variation of the regular pattern, tire track eels can range from being almost completely covered with the dark brown markings to having literally no markings at all, just like how fire eels' patterns can range from having no pattern (solid black/grey) to having a red, orange or even yellow pattern.Half-Fish-Half-Amazing;4125324; said:but i research it and saw a picture that looks the same that was label peacock eel

No problem, I hate that that site is making everyone believe that these are peacocks.Half-Fish-Half-Amazing;4125338; said:your right its a tire track eel. thanks for the ID
