..or atleast he tried. i was in the shop area here at work and my buddy came in and said that one catfish is eating the other so i dropped eveything, ran in the office and sure enough one of my 6.5" rtcxtsn had one of my 5.5" tsn head in its mouth trying to swallow it!!!! i reached in and grabbed them and the hybrid spit him out but he sunk to the bottom, i picked him up and held him in front of the return flow for a minute or so but nothing...as i was about to place him in the freezer i noticed a fin move, so i ran back to the tank held him in front of the return flow again and he started breathing again!!!!!!!! i held him there for a few minutes and he then swam out of my hand and down to his hiding spot and has been fine so far. it happened about 2 hours ago so i guess hes gonna be fine. I couldnt belive that the hybrid would try to eat something that big...i know they will try to eat something that will fit in its mouth but damn....almost gave me a heartattack.

my signature says it all lol

oh and i hope your TSN survives it would be a shame to lose it.

yeah man your sig tells the truth....thanks im sure he'll be fine, but just in case both tsn are going back in the 55g grow out for a little while and hopefully i can put them back together one day.

but the truth is you cant stop loving em' no matter what the do

the tsn just ate a couple of shrimp chunks so hes got his apetite so im sure hes good to go but im still moving them back to the 55g.

Same thing happened to me yesterday (almost) 12" RTC finally realized he could eat the 4" JD thats been in his tank FOREVER. Had to separate them, maybe they'll be back in the same tank once the 680 is finished.

Glad your tsn is ok :)

Sounds like you need to bump up the feeding regimen. It shouldn't be attempting to eat the TSN unless it was starving especially if they are that close in size range
