Hydro tat feeding on dry shrimp and hikari food sticks which is his favorite. Basically i think the other fish i have in there before i bought him helped him start to eat dry. At first it was hard and takes a lot of patience. I feed him feeders at first just to keep him alive then i starve him from feeders and started feeding hikari food sticks that float up top which i got from petmountain.com 2.2 lb bag and also once in awhile some dry shrimp every day. if he doesnt eat anything within 3-5 days or longer prolly 7 days i assume, i give him feeders again and restart the process. just gotta keep starving him. i try to drop food ontop of where he hangs out at. but warning with feeders, ich from feeders had killed most of my stock. Good luck!

I am getting my tat tomorrow and hope to switch to non-live soon! Good to know it can be done. Love the pink tails and spotted silver dollar also.

I am setting up a feeder quarantine tank in case it doesn't eat the first week and will re-try again as you said. How many weeks did it take you?

nope no aggression at all, only aggressive to hikari food sticks and dry shrimp, and the King of my tank is a tropheus moori, he picks on everyone

I just got my tat (first one I've taken in) a few days ago. I'm currently feeding him live tetras while he continues to get used to his new home. You've got a great idea going and I'll definitely have to try this after a few more weeks :)
